Table Notes and Explanations

(Please refer to the table below.)
  • Select view: Major packages only (52) All tracked packages (226)
  • To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

Easy to install and configure but with an ugly GUI. Takes ages to start the interface, I was about to quit when it opened.
I removed immediatly

First in English Language, danach das Ganze nochmal in Deutsch:

I wanted to use my old 32bit Mini PC as NAS. So I looked out for a OS that offers a NAS. So I tried the Easy NAS. 0.7.2 ISO for 32 bit. The installation was very easy and quick. But i failed in configuring the OS by using the grafical surface shown in the browser. Either I was too stupid or the operation too complicated. The OS offers a lot of Services. But that's too much and complicated for my specific use. I only want to save and exchange my files with OpenSSH and SFTP in my local network.

In the end I installed FreeBSD with four following steps: 1. Install nano 2.Install sudo 3. add a user and put root privileges 4. configure hosts.allow and hosts.deny to lock out strange computers

That was all and its works very fine.
