Table Notes and Explanations

(Please refer to the table below.)
  • Select view: Major packages only (52) All tracked packages (226)
  • To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

Tried BL helium4 and very impressed, a long time CrunchBang user and although don't use BL because I use strictly non-systemd distributions, VOID primarily. Still, appreciate the configurations and simple looks of Openbox!

Pros: Very much like my old favorite CB with wheezy, icons and themes are attractive and absolutely enjoyed the install. Played around and entertained me with much of the distro. Easy to use and simple enough for a noob, point out that BL much like CB a user could grow with it as their knowledge base broadened.

Community-driven, big plus that so much of the build is from input from users, collective of ideas and configs.

Cons: Systemd, but that is all!

For those who simply like a very simple yet sophisticated distribution do highly recommend BL.
Kudo's to the BunsenLabs Team!

Very nice for older computers, while missing some few important extras, such as copy and paste capability in the shell. Typing this on a Pentium4 ;)

The perfect Distro for everyone looking for Debian with Openbox!

It just works, has a clean default configuration and if you want you can still customize in every way!

The minimal selection of preinstalled applications is perfect in my opinion, as additional software is installed so fast and easily with apt and the welcome-script also allows to install additions if you want.

I'm running BunsenLabs on my ThinkPad T450s and my workstation pc and everything is working fine.

I was a long time distro-hopper and i think i cured my distrohopping with BunsenLabs.

The combination of Debian and Openbox makes it super stable and easy to maintain.

I would like to thank the BunsenLabs team and hope they keep up the awesome work!
