Penetration "testing" distros with Systemd installed are oxymoronic. Anyone with the slightest knowledge of IT security would know the basic characteristics of malware, and be able to differentiate probable malware from legitimate software (at least when its blatantly obvious). Based on that, Systemd is beyond a reasonable doubt malware. (legal disclaimer: just my opinion) If they do not understand basic security concepts then how can they break/test it? If they do, then why knowingly put something that is in all likelihood intended to spy on, harm, or exploit their user base?
I tried this anyways, as all so called "penetration testing distributions" seem to be spins of the larger systemd based distros, but at least this one doesn't use the abominable GNOME3. That too is oxymoronic considering how bloated it is. There's a huge amount of tools, but that just means bloat. It's not a good thing, unless they are chosen and arranged efficiently. It's okay to have a large set of tools but throwing in the whole repository is overboard and puts a lot of unnecessary stuff on. In this case it is just a mess. I'd rather have a basic set of relevant software and then choose the rest myself.
Another concern about the massive amount of software that is heaped into this is the fact that they still include systemd which means they don't know anything about infosec or just don't care (or at least they certainly do not err on the side of caution), which means there's no reason to trust that they wouldn't be irresponsible in other ways. With the amount of software, who knows if its all trustworthy -- I doubt they'd bother concerning themselves with that. Have fun auditing that 4Gb+++ of stuff you will mostly never use.

Installed as a daily driver, with no issues.
The large number of 1,940+ tools is there if you need it, but also doesn't get in the way of basic tasks.
This distro is an Arch-based masterpiece for red-team pentesting and blue-team forensic work.
I'm very fond of their default Fluxbox theme, and I prefer Fluxbox as my goto anyway, so it's a perfect fit.
Very easy to customize, and very stable (at least for me so far).
Though be warned, it is Arch-based so familiarity with the Arch way is highly recommended.
For a beginner to Arch and/or Linux in general, I wouldn't recommend this distro. Learn on regular Arch first or get your feet wet with a distro that holds your hand... this is not that.
If you're familiar with Arch and customizing a system to meet your exact specifications, you'll have a grand time enjoying all the effort put into this distro.
Can't wait to see where they take it in the future, and putting the number of tools aside I think it rivals and bests its peers by a longshot.

Black Arch Linux will be the superior pen-testing Distro in a few years, being much more a template for other Distros to follow than a alternative to Kali Linux. Its simplistic look feels great for all minimalist. The endless capability of possibility is a awesome feeling. The size of the OS is completely reasonable for the amount of tools and additional components if offers. If they offer a GUI installer would really bring this Distro to the leading charts, maybe offering a secondary option to use a GUI installer so people don't feel like they have lost "the arch way" of a CLI. Can be a bit buggy at times but nothing terrible. Overall great Distro and hope other kernels can adopt the same capability without deviating from their style.
-Please offer secondary option of GUI installer please!!!

The live in all desktops available come with infinitesimal microscopic fonts. I had to use a magnifying glass to guess what the installer was asking me. 2 hours later this resulted in NO installation. You have to be able to read something to write something in a terminal. No information on the net on how and where to adjust things. At some point in fluxbox I was able to change a color theme that made menus slightly readable. No effect on the term and no ...rc file to edit in home/root ...
Writing to them over a month ago did not produce a response. I gave it one more try and deleted the .iso
Stupidest distro ever encountered.
